What is plasma fibroblast therapy?
We know that it sounds like a mouthful. We use a handheld device called a “plasma fibroblast pen” to deliver therapeutic energy to targeted treatment sites. This pen-like device also uses microneedling techniques. It creates small punctures or microscopic channels in the skin. This technique triggers the process of wound healing. As the skin in the targeted area heals, more firming collagen is produced to tighten the skin and fill in any depressions, such as wrinkles, stretch marks, and scars. Additionally, the pen precisely delivers electrical impulses to the damaged areas it is directed toward. These impulses generate plasma energy, which also stimulates collagen production. So, it’s like a “two-fer” procedure that maximizes the results associated with either energy-based or microneedling treatments performed on their own.
How do you perform the needling and apply plasma energy?
Each treatment session takes about an hour. We start by cleansing and disinfecting the treatment site(s). To ensure your utmost comfort, we also apply a numbing topical anesthetic. We gently apply the plasma pen to the cleansed areas only after you are fully numb. The pen is used to “microneedle” in an innovative way by using electrical impulses and plasma energy to create microscopic channels in the skin. This process encourages healthy skin growth and new collagen development to restore youthful firmness and elasticity.

So, will I need more than one treatment?
With just one treatment session, you can see noticeable improvements in the appearance of hooded eyes, scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, and saggy skin on the face and body. However, we largely recommend three to six sessions to get the most out of treatment. These additional treatments should be scheduled at least 12 weeks apart to ensure proper healing in between.
Will I need to take lots of time off of work for this procedure?
Absolutely not. Patients love this option because it is an effective alternative to facelifts and other invasive surgeries or aggressive procedures. For most, it’s normal to notice small red dots that may be lighter or darker than the surrounding skin. These dots may form tiny scabs as the old skin sheds, making way for fresh, rejuvenated skin cells. These and other mild side effects typically subside within a few days. So, “social downtime” is quite minimal. Skin is generally tighter and more lifted in around six to 10 weeks, with full healing completed by around week No. 12.
