Seven after-care Tips for Lip Filler Injections
- Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area after getting lip filler injections. Touching or rubbing the treated area could cause the filler to shift and lead to an uneven appearance. It’s best to let your lips settle and heal on their own without any interference.
- Apply ice to reduce swelling. It’s common for the lips to swell after getting lip filler injections. To minimize this, apply a cold compress or ice pack on and off for ten to fifteen minutes. This will help reduce inflammation and discomfort.
- Keep the area clean. To prevent an infection, keeping the injected area clean is crucial. Be sure to gently wash your lips with a mild cleanser and pat them dry using a clean towel. Avoid touching the area with unwashed hands to prevent bacteria from entering the injection sites.
- Avoid intense physical activity. Avoid any strenuous exercise or activities that might cause excessive sweating for at least twenty-four hours after getting lip fillers. This is to prevent any potential irritation or infection in the injected area.
- Follow post-care instructions provided by your injector.
